DUMA finding new life on art house circuit
Duma is finding new life on the art house circuit. Theatre owners started to request the film in the fall and it played in December in Orlando and Chapel Hill, NC. It opened 1/6/06 in Minneapolis and in four theatres in San Franciso area.
It is scheduled to open over the next two months in the following areas: Albany (Saratoga Springs Theatre 3/23-3/26), Boston (Strand Theatre 1/14-1/16), Cincinnati (Little Art 1/6), Cleveland (Cinematheque 3/4-3/5), Detroit (Michigan in Ann Arbor 1/13-1/19), New Haven (Cine Studio 1/8), Seattle (Pickford 1/27-2/2, Capitor 1/28-2/3).
The film performed so well in San Francisco opening weekend, with no advertising, that Warner Bros. handed it over to Warner Classics, which is now attempting to book the film into art house theatres around the country through early spring when the DVD will be released. If you have an independent or art house theatres in your community, they should be hearing from the studio but if you are interested you should request it and encourage them to book the film.
