I haven't seen this - it just looks like from the cover, that there is a cheetah or leaopard, wearing a beanie - what the hell?

The hat belongs to the drifter (Ripkuna) Xan meets. Rip placed his hat on Duma to cheer Xan up when he got depressed over the reality of giving Duma his freedom.
