His acting was awful, his character was dumb as a rock and extremely unlikable, and he had the absolute most annoying accent I've ever heard. Every time he opened his mouth it was like a cheese grater on my ears. Ugh.

2) His character was dumb as a rock?? Wouldn't you be an introvert if you lived on a ranch in the middle of nowhere??
3) Accent? They had a limited budget for this and only recouped one-twelfth of their budget from ticket sales. They probably couldn't afford a local, known actor or even a voice coach.
4) Are you South African? I'm guessing "yah".
Having met and lived around many foreigners I too, am sensitive to accents, either the lack of or bad faking of. The kid really ruined the movie for you?? REALLY????? Remind me not to invite you over to my house for "movie night".
