Deleted Otis/Charley scene confusion

On the DVD: in the deleted scene where Charley is getting stoned and Otis starts being affectionate with him, Charley is depressed because the restaurant is in trouble. Where would this fit in? There is no reference to the restaurant's failure in the film or commentary.

Well, it did say, in the scene where we first see grown up Charley (you know, with the sign that says he's gay now), that he inherited all the restaurants, but that there's only one left, so apparently he's not a good businessman. And on my DVD it didn't have the deleted scenes, but maybe it would be after the scene where they eye each other at the club? And maybe Charley just says the restaurant is in trouble, because he wants Otis' affection, we saw earlier, that he would lie to get his way.

...just sayin'...
