Hmm, perhaps you didn't get it? It's in your history not to get a movie, so it's likely this is the case.

you know what 030164 i don't agree with the OP here but I totaly hate it when someone says that another person did'nt like the film becuse they "didn'T get it"
it's rude. i don't agree but i respect thier opinion. and if you felt he was a troll then it would be best to not honor him with your answer

>>>>"OMG this movie doesn't have nothing of originality!"<<<< Wow, you're so articulate.

Anyways, maybe if you had an attention span of more than 5 minutes you'd be able to see how interesting each story is. Obviously Don Roos intended for the stories to be good, thats why they're interesting. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that he wanted people to like the stories. And if you can't see the comedy and drama, go watch Dukes of Hazzard or something, maybe the comedy in Happy Endings isn't obvious enough for you.

And if it was such "useless wasted time", why did you write about it? Are you trying to warn people about how bad this movie is? I'm sure people will really take you seriously, what with all of your deep analysis and astonishing diction.

cya, moron.

(maybe i couldn't be more "deep" because my english is not too good. sorry.)

anyway... i'm not interesting in a story with two couples of gay people and they don't know who's the sperm is! and a mexican guy who married to stay in US and a stupid movie that they do, and a mother who will meet the son for the 1st time...and a b**** who *beep* with the "boyfriend's" father to take his money... and nothings happens, oohh great stories aren't they?

u laughed? u cried? what u feel about it?

I know that people's endings sometimes can't be to brilliant but there is a movie's moral?

I saw Dukes of Hazzard, and i know that it's a bull**** like this movie even in a diferent way!

and i wrote this because i think more people could agree that this movie is bad!

I think this guy can say exactly what he wants. If it bored him then it bored him. So far I'm a little bored watching right now, but I'll give it a shot.
Don't be such elitists about these flixs. Come on, just because Sundance dug them does not mean they are all gold.
that said, I'm watching right now, and I'll give my opinion later.

I watched it, trying to keep my eyelids and mind open. Far too often, I pick out these indie flicks hoping for something new and fresh. Instead, I am treated to a pompous and pretentious Hollywood offering that clearly is an attempt to bother the straight, middle class whiteys from everywhere America. I couldn't stand one more helping of the karaoke singing, but Lisa Kudrow did a good job with the script. Tom Arnold was also surprising. This movie reminds me a lot of American Beauty, Grand Canyon and a few others that try to weave multiple story lines of "real life." I'd suggest passing on this one unless you are really part of the quasi-intellectual set that like to decipher the directors' and writers' meaning for each line or plot piece.

The original poster seemed open to opinion . . . he/she was asking where the drama/comedy etc. was, I didn't take these as rhetorical questions. I'm sorry that you might not have enjoyed this movie, but at least you didn't bash it like the original poster.

reply

I seriously having major troubleses readed what you're trying to right cause you have absolute no knowing of right grammars. (This is sarcasm btw, just in case this wasn't obvious for you)

Grammar aside, you seem to be truly annoyed by the fact that there is two gay couples in this film, homophobia shouldn't really come into play concerning a film's quality. I just don't really understand where your argument is here. You're really just listing the stories in an opinioned fashion, you aren't really supporting your claim. If you just found it boring, than why are you telling everyone? So that five people can agree with you and that'll make you feel better about yourself? Nobody *beep* cares that you hated this movie, unless you had some legitimate reason other than your lack of attention or fear of gays. That's all I'm trying to say...have a reason for saying that this movie sucks. And if no general reason presented itself, use "I think that this movie sucks", cause not everybody is on your side.

I almost took your post seriously until it said there were too many gays in the movie...grow up!

My husband didn't fall in love with this movie like I did, but he still thought that it was okay. I thought the funny parts were funnier than he did. I thought the sad parts were sadder than he did. I thought it was great, he thought it was okay.

I thought this movie was super funny. It's a black comedy, so the humor tends to be a bit more subtle. I also think how funny someone finds this film is relative to how much they can relate to the characters. I've studied film and have a number of gay friends, so I think I caught more jokes than some people.

Just a thought.

reply

I assume that this was meant for the original poster? Cause I'm not homophobic.

reply

Sorry Chris this is just a general comment about the film:

I basically avoided this film when it came out because of a strong dislike of Tom Arnold, but I caught the second half on TMN last night and was pleasantly surprised. I liked it so much that I'm now thinking of getting the DVD. I thought the characters were very believable even if some of the situations felt somewhat contrived. Unlike the OP I found it refreshing that there was more than the standard token gay "best friend" or couple. Oh, and I even thought Tom Arnold did a good job.

Gotta agree with the lack of english skills guy. None of these stories interested me at all.

And I quote: "and i wrote this"

And you're proud? Anything you have to say is irrelevant as you are incapable of writing a full coherent sentence and you don't seem to possess an even passing acquaintance with grammar. It takes a good three passes just to get a basic idea of what it is you're trying to say and even then it just reads like a mishmash of thoughts without a point. You can't seem to make up your mind whether you're writing in, "text speak" or English. Frankly, you're just about the last person most people would listen to for a movie critique or even a, "Yelp" review.

I was expecting it to suck but it turned out to be not bad. Maggie Gyllenhaal is not a good singer though...

reply

I don't want to say it sucks, but to me, it's so boring at the beginning that makes me don't want to continue to watch it. May be it just me, b/c I saw someone really interested in this...

reply

The movie definitely didn't suck. I enjoyed it. Lisa Kudrow surprised me, shoot, i didnt even know it was her at first.

So, I liked it a lot. But still, I somehow felt when it ended that it could have been better. Something was missing, but I can't get a handle on it. Maybe because there were too many characters that there wasn't enough time to go into more depth on each character's s*it. But heck, I'd recommend it to anyone. Think this movie sucked? Go waste 10 bucks on Babel.

I thought this movie was crap too!!!
