Gozu and The Shining

Anybody else thought Gozu resembled The Shining by Kubrick? Not the themes, but the general feel of the movie. I thought the build up and suspense was similar, specially in the middle part as we try to figure out what is going on, knowing that it is some fudged up stuff.

The music at the very least was very Kubrickian.
