hey people,
does anyone know the theme that plays when Sangita is introduced and also subsequently whenever a shot takes us into her part of the movie. It seems deeply Indian, maybe Carnatic, I'm not sure, it's very beautiful though. Please let me know if you know this, thanks,

Yup. It's carnatic based. The style of the song is called a "thillana". The song's on the OST CD and in the version that's available on the CD, it actually moves from pop/RnB to dance/techno. Definitely neat.
