Movie goes downhill

I saw this first time and really enjoyed the plot and stoy and I was quite intrigued by it till a pivotal point it just went slump. I think the director ran out of ideas and had to make a hastuly decision on how to end the movie. Still its a good indirect copied story line to the Godfather.
