the flashbacks to the fire were spliced from Backdraft and the jet sequences were ripped from Top gun!!! You could see the Russian Migs in the background if you paused and Mavericks and Gooses name on the side of the jet. and i did not see any acknowledges in the credits
Yeah, and what was even funnier is that the Navy guy at the Pentagon made mention that he would alert Miramar to scramble jets (the home of Top Gun). The when they actually take off, it's a carrier scene from Top Gun. Then the subsequent cut away to Maverick and Goose on the side of the F-14, and then the final Mig battle. Unbelieveable.
Hehe, I'm glad it wasn't just me who noticed these things! It's a weird film, the cast is pretty good, but the budget must have been miniscule. It's definitely a "B Movie" in the old-fashioned sense of the word.
