Canon or Legends?

Recently, it was announced that the Expanded Universe (which will be under the "Legends" label) is not considered part of the continuity that includes the films, the 2008 The Clone Wars TV series, the Rebels TV series, novels that will be published from this September onward, and Marvel's upcoming Star Wars comics. Jennifer Heddle said that the TV shows Droids and Ewoks are considered "Legends," but she did not seem sure about this show. I would think that since this show contradicts Labyrinth of Evil, which will probably be considered Legends, then this could possibly be the canonical lead-in to Revenge of the Sith. Anyone hear any word about whether or not this show is canon?

To my understanding, this is *not* canon. Which is really confusing.

Going forward, Lucasfilm considers the 3D animated series of Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels to be under the official story banner. That excludes this series. Unfortunately, I think they're doing this so they can play with Asaaj Ventress (which is a real shame, because she met a fitting end in this series and did a lot of Anakin's moral arc).

This is particularly confusing because it effectively DID function as the canonical lead-in to Revenge of the Sith. This series sets up General Grievous, the Chancellor's kidnapping, why Grievous had a cough when you first see him in RotS, and the battle over Coruscant that the film opens to. Regardless, it appears that Lucasfilm will relegate this series to Legends, which as I've said before, is a darn shame.

Even if Lucasfilm does not currently consider it to be part of Story Group's continuity, I do think it fits well. It makes it seem as though Anakin's knighthood is within months of Episode II, and that's consistent with the timeline of the 3D TV show.

It's part of my head canon. I don't really care what Lucasfilm says. I love this miniseries.

Volume One takes place before the CGI Clone Wars series, and Volume 2 takes place after the CGI show, and immediately before ROTS.

I don't see why this one can't be canon. There aren't any major continuity problems.

R4 is destroyed by Ventress. Well, in ROTS Obi Wan could easily have another model R4 unit, painted the same colour.

Ventress plunges to her seeming death on Yavin 4 in this, and is back in the 08 series. Well , Maul survived being cut in half and falling down a bottomless pit too.

Any small issues can be explained away.

Even some of the voice actors are the same in this version . I hate that Lucas suddenly decided it is non canon.

Just make it canon for yourself.
