Crucified in loincloths

I realize frontal male nudity is a problem for film-makers. Still, all those crucified slaves wearing loincloths is almost laughable. It's as if the Romans said: "We'll publicly execute you in a slow, agonizing fashion designed for maximum shame and humilation, but for heaven's sake, we don't want to embarrass you! So pick out a loincloth you can wear, make sure it's modest enough to cover your parts and doesn't bulge or gape in a suggestive manner. Also make sure it doesn't show any stains. After all, our executions must be rated no more restrictive than PG."
