Who are these people?

I used to watch Punk'd with Ashton Kutcher and now since it's come back I've starting watching it again. However, most of the time I have no idea who the host is or the person getting Punk'd. Is anyone else in a similar position?

reply

They are punking the new generation really.

reply

Really? Some of them I didn't really care about.

Taylor swift- grammy winner.
Bieber- Had a movie about his life
Miley- Disney fame
Efron- Has a movie coming out, HSM
Lucy Hale- ABC family fame.
Sean Kingston- singer
Tyler Posey- MTV teen wolf
Dianna Agron- Glee
Vanessa- HSM
Jodh- Hunger games..

I didn't know/care about-
Rob Dyrdek
Tyler the Creator
Jersey Shore people.

You must be old and out of touch then.

You're mad at me? Guess I'm doing something right. xoxo

reply

By today's standards I am. I'm 25.

reply

The 25 year olds of your time said that about Kutcher.

How can you tell if someone's a compulsive liar? I mean, assuming their pants aren't on fire?

reply

I'm only 22, which is not a big difference.

reply

I hardly watch TV anymore and I don't listen to the radio. I guess that's the reason why I'm so out of touch.

No...

Efron is a big movie star. He's in a lot of movies now.
Lucy Hale is from Pretty Little Liars
Sean Kingston is sort of popular but not right now. He became popular with "Beautiful Girls" NOT "Stand By Me".
Tyler Posey is from Teen Wolf (MTV)
Dianna Agron is from Glee
Vanessa is sort of in a lot of movies
Josh Hutcherson has been in movies for years and The Hunger Games is his biggest movie ever.
Rob Dyrdek is from a Fantasy Factory/Ridiculousness on MTV.
Tyler The Creator is some stupid rapper who only has like 1 good song.

Basically they aren't complete nobodies, but people who don't live under rocks should still know who most people are.

The only people I recognized: Efron, Hudgens, Bieber, Swift, Bam, Drydek, and Kingston.

Lucy Hale? Never even heard of Pretty Little Liars.

reply

The ONLY reason I know about Lucy Hale is because of my obsession for
Scream 4 last year. She was in it so I did some research on her. She's only famous for her ABC Family teen show so she's brand new. Not even movie star fame yet.
But teens these days are only really WELL known if they've been in or envolved in or tweeted about some scandal. That's the big difference between now and the 1st half of the decade. 2000-2006 the 90s you didnt have to work so much to be a teen celeb. All you had to do was work on a WB drama or in a horror movie. Ahhh I miss those days

I said he sampled the song. Do you know what sampling means? Learn to read next time.

Efron is a big movie star. He's in a lot of movies now.

No he's not. His one big hit was six years ago. All of his other movies outside of the HSM series have been flops, both critically and financially.

Tyler Posey is from Teen Wolf (MTV)

Rob Dyrdek is from a Fantasy Factory/Ridiculousness on MTV

Thanks for proving my point as to why they're NOT famous. It's not out of touch to not know something most people don't know about or keep up with, or care for at all.

Don't Hang Up! (No, No)
Oh don't you do it now!

One must never boast about not knowing something, however insignificant, but keep it to themselves, for ignorance is not a virtue.

I completely made that up, and just phrased it to sound like it was some famous quote. If I had written that point normally, it would have just sounded like I was being hostile towards you, and there's just way too much hostility on the internet anyway. I apologize for the deception, and I take your assertion that I took that from "a dead white guy" as a compliment.

Sure, ignorance is bliss. And you're right, you can't know everything. It's honestly good that there are people who aren't as much in tune with this MTV generation's horrible pop culture. But you can't just go around claiming people aren't famous because you don't know them.

Someone pointed this out this show or the pranks are to tamed and the celebs are boring people!

reply

That's cause you're old...probably! I'm sorry I'm not trying to be rude, but It's mostly the famous people now.

It's moments like this when u come to appreciate having real friends.Imma go find one!

They always punk'd so many African American rappers/sports stars who I don't have any idea who the hell they are, yet they act like we're supposed to know. And they all come across as angry and uncouth so it blurs together lol.
