Don't forget how good this show once was

Since imdb boards are ending, I thought I'd just post this and go down with the ship. Seasons 1-4 were great and perhaps my all-time favorite show. It really captured the cultural zeitgeist and was extremely cool and dramatic; when I think of those years in terms of culture, I actually think of Nip/Tuck. Yes it devolved into crap after that, but let's not forget the hours of entertainment it gave us and how great it once was.

I agree. I think seasons 2 and 3 were the pinnacle of the series. The show peaked there. The subsequent seasons were enjoyable, but not a patch on what came before.

Agreed mostly. Season 2 is pretty much their golden year. I enjoyed all the seasons though. I don't think Seasons 5 and 6 are really complete crap, only when you compare them with earlier seasons. Also take into account that, par for the course, Ryan Murphy had less to do with the show as it went on.

I definitely agree on it being tied to "those years in terms of culture." During its run, I was actually in film school, and once wrote a 10-page paper on the show's relevance to our culture and society. Got an A ;)

true. actually by the end i grew sick of the series and did not even watch the finale. i just read up on said finale and i gotta admit, that i am glad i did not watch it.

I had a sudden vision of Vanessa Redgrave in the airport scene the other day....this show definitely stayed with you.

It was also very sexy.
