An update, I've found information from various sources which all have a similar statement (taken from Wikipedia):

On April 29, 2013 George Krstic posted a tweet saying that he and Chris Prynoski were having a meeting at Titmouse to discuss bringing back MegasXLR and Motorcity.

So there may be some renewed hope for both this. Here's hoping they come up with a game plan to get the rights from CN.
