your crazy american tv people killed an amazing show, i first watched LOF a year or so ago on tv here in australia, and have been recently watching re-runs wondering why this show wasn't kept going. sure here in aus it was put on at a crap timeslot (very early in the morning) i would stay up just to watch this show. hopefully there will be something similar come along in the near future

shareI agree with everyone that this show was fantastic, and it sucked that it was cancelled.
The only positive I can give about the cancellation is that at least they made a 2 hour TV "movie" that (sort of) provided some closure. Not really, but sort of. Many amazing shows with low ratings and huge storylines simply "disappeared" one day, replaced with a rerun of some crap show.
In The Line of Fire was definitely set to be cancelled, but the network gave it the respect (at least) of a finale, of sorts.
I really liked the show, but I found it jarring how they would completely ignore the mob angle and go look at something like a decades-old murder of a black man or a pregnant junkie on the run. Some of that stuff was interesting, but I really just wanted to watch David Paymer bust some heads and Roy and Stubbin with their interaction. And the FBI agents individually were pretty interesting, though Leslie Hope seemed a little too credible with her job for someone whose personal life is about to fall apart.

I'm thinking they showed because its one season ended in a similar fashion to John Doe, to Firefly, to The Inside and to Kings. The last ep kinda closed the book on the story arc covered in the season and gave us some indication of what Season 2 would be like. An end of book 1 ep if you wish. The season can thus be rewatched and though you're disappointed with not getting anymore you, well I didn't feel it was a waste of my time.
