subs v. dubs

Okay, personally I think the dub for this series is great. THe voice actors are near suburb and pretty much everything is translated nicely (with the exception of a few of Mimiru's comments). The only thing that gets me is the fact that they call Ginkan, Silver Night. But beyond that the dub is great. I actually watch both the subs and the dubs (although not at the same time lol)

I love the dub of .hack. No other studio can dub animes better than Bandai. Mimiru's dub was annoying as hell tho, but the rest are fantastic. Brianne Siddal did a wonderful job as Tsukasa (and Elk)and Dave Wittenberg also did a great job as Sora, which in turn fooled most people into thinking that Sora offline couldn't possibly a 4th grader ^^

I usually watch this kind of stuff with subtitles cause usually english actors butcher the dialog. But in .hack's case I usually make an exeption.

You say Bandai is the best with dubs? I take it you haven't seen the English version of Gundam SEED...

Oh please that's just ONE example. You look at most other studuios like ADV and FUNi they have a really rocky history of dubbing

the real problem with the dubs in this anime is that Sora doesnt even sound near as expressioned as he does i the subs. in the subs he sounds alot more jumpy and lively than in the dubs.

I like the dubbed take on how Sora sounded. Gave him a more sly look yet humorous at the same time. Like I said, I think they were aiming to keep Sora's age a mystery. In the sub, you can easily determine how old Sora was by how high-pitched the voice was.
