Was Carlos a pedophile?

Was Walter's brother in law a pedophile or attracted to younger girls? He acted, strangely, I thought. Or perhaps he was trying to provoke Walter. Either way, odd.

I wondered this myself. I noticed that he acted, I guess you could say oddly. I found it weird that he would remain friends with Walter after he just spent 12 years in prison as a sex offender. I mean, if I found out that my brother in law was a pedophile, I probably wouldn't keep in touch with him after he got out of jail. But yeah, I think he was just a rather odd character.

Might want to watch it again and pay attention. Walter asked him why he stuck by him and Carlos told walter that he was returning the favor because Walter stuck up for him while he was dating his sister and the family was a little racist towards him. Also in another scene Walter made a little reference to if Carlos ever had any of those pedo feelings and Carlos went off on him. I do not think Carlos was a pedo in any way, shape, or form.

I think maybe Carlos did feel some feelings himself but denied them, even in his own head. We so often lie, even or maybe especially, to ourselves. Nobody wants to accept the fact that they fantasize about girls as young as 12 or 13, or steal, or do whatever they happen to be ashamed of. Who knows how many men out there are like Walter, except they have never acted on what they feel or even admitted it to themselves?

There is nothing to support that argument.

Sometimes a cigar is a cigar. Not every vehement denial fits Shakespeare's "Thou dost protest too much."

Wow... So... You got something goin' on up in that head, then, huh?

Not really, I just think what Carlos was saying showed that he understood Walter maybe just a little too much. And you really can't underestimate the power of self loathing, look at all those homophobic Right wing activists that get caught in some sort of gay sex scandal after years of gay bashing.

Quite possibly.

No. Walter's implied suspicion arose when Carlos said he could not love his daughter "too much." Remember, when you only have a hammer the entire universe looks like a nail.
