Kevin Bacon makes me feel uncomfortable

Sleepers, Mystic River, The Woodsman... He's an excellent actor but I kind of dislike him. I guess I associate his face with some very disturbing images...

yeah i can understand that. hes definitely had an interesting arrangement of characters in his lifetime..but maybe you should watch some other movies hes in that hes not like super-creepy in. i really liked "stir of echoes", "death sententce", "tremors", "picture perfect", and even his cameo in "beauty shop"! :D

maybe seeing a couple of different, maybe 'lighter' movies may help you disorganize these feelings, cuz he is a super actor :D

I'm not sure if "Footloose" was his first movie; it's the movie that introduced me to this superb actor. He's most likely in his early 20s playing a high school age student. Some good music (still sounds good to me though kind of disco-ish), good dancing, both serious and lighthearted moments. Anyway, I think if you saw him in this you'd like him.

It's easy for an actor to only play "likeable" roles (even when they are playing a villian) but it takes courage to play an unlikeable role like a convicted child molester.

He's amazing. He should have been up for Oscar for The Woodsman. I guess the Academy doesn't like him. He plays a creep in The River Wild also but it is a great flick, if you haven't seen it.

Kevin Bacon gave you the creeps? Imagine had they given the role to Steve Buscemi!

reply

Hey Major, thats a brilliant comparison there. Steve Buscemi does indeed play the creepy roles perfectly well lol.

But somebody said Kev Bacon gave them the creeps becuase of Mystic river. What exactly was bad about his role in that film, as far as I can remember he was a copper and he was about to go after Sean Penn's character for what he'd done. (spoiler alert of course!!)

Kevin Bacon is a gifted actor, because he can own a role, & make you hate his guts !

White Water something or other was another film where he was all nice, only to flip his wig & go crazy on the kids he was camping with during the summer.

I felt the same way about Danny Glover, after I watched "The Color Puprle".

I guess the dislike is a sign of a great actor.
