Corellation between this and The Black Donnelly's?

Obviously aside from Bobby Moresco's part, it seemed to tell a similar story of young kids growing up together and some getting into bad things, while the one character is constantly watching out for the others. In fact, he's even got the same name in both projects. "Tommy".

Not to mention, Piper Perabo's part in 10th and Wolf is pretty much the exact part that Olivia Wilde played in the Black Donnelly's. And no surprise, both of their characters hook up with the righteous Tommy character. But both characters had husbands that went missing and they didn't know if they were alive or not (though it was a longer running gag on The Black Donnelly's than in 10th and Wolf), both characters were bartenders. Both characters grew up with the brothers/cousins (same classes in school, etc).

Also the killing of the father figure early on in both, the fact that the best friend/made man/"uncle" is the one who killed them in both.

I don't know, I just remember watching The Black Donnelly's and loving it and just seeing this movie on TV and thinking it looked like the same story but with random actors (some for the better, some for the worse).
