Did they really have to waste good film on this guy? If you want to make a documentary on him, why not wait a couple of years, perhaps decades? A feature film about Yao Ming isn't on the top of anyone's must-see list. I'm just glad the critics didn't buy into it.

As was said before, this film was more about Chinese Vs. American attitudes and Yao's exploration/journey through the world of the NBA. The film doesn't try to play up Yao's stats or playing stye or anything like that, unlike most other sports films. This is purely about culture, not ability.
