Numerous Player of the Week and Player of the Month Awards for Yao.

It is obvious that Yao is improving quite steadily. Ever since the 2006 ALL STAR GAME, YAO MING has been one of the MOST dominate players in the NBA. Anyone following the league know this. Even through the difficulty of the transition of culture and language Yao has improved quite dramatically and steadily. If you discredit this transition it is obvious you have never been to another country and tried to live there for a long period of time. Basketball is a game that heavily relies on the spoken languange, and the cultural differences and teachings of China nd the US are drastically different. I thought maybe people will understand this from watching this documentary. But as with all Documentaries there are always sceptics and people questioning the events and truthfulness behind the story, but I sh8t you not, this transition is more difficult than it seems. Yao Mings improvements have been outstanding. He is still young and he seems to be more and more comfortable with the game here as shown by he's recent performance. If hes recent performance is any indicator of hes future he will be one of the best if not the best center in the league beginning next year. But i already think he is the best center in the league this year. Hes numbers are better than ALL of the centers in the League as of right now.

^^ I agree with the above post. I think with Kwame Brown drafted a year earlier and seeing how he turned out. I was apprehensive about yao. But now I think he far exceeded expectations not even his biggest fans boys could predict.

Even if he can't play again, He's had a great career. Players who this tall are supposed to be shot blockers and offensive stiffs and not much else.

But Yao's numbers speak for themselves. They are outstanding especially in today's NBA where rules are interpreted and biased in favor of perimeter players.

Shaq said he would have been one of the top 5 centers to play the game if not for all the injuries. I wholeheartedly agree. Yao Ming was an utter beast, and he even dominated Dwight Howard in their 9 matchups, beating him 7-2, and beating him in every statistical category except for steals. I'm a Celtics fan, and even I have to salute Yao Ming. Great player, great and generous attitude. Wish he were one of ours. We tried to get him one year too.
