Am I the only one thinking it's a good movie???

Just saw this movie last night on tv, and I enjoyed it a lot... I think Paul Bettany is great in it... He's very very funny! I was quite disappointed with all the "I drink beers, and spend my time sleeping during the tournament" stuff, but the tennis moments looked nice to me!
The romance was nice too, even if sometimes I thought something was missing!!
But I'll buy the DVD now!!!

Does anybody here thinks it's a nice movie???

I loved it too, really enjoyed listening to his thoughts during the matches, I agree about the beer and etc, i was even wondering if at the start of the movie, where Deiter was saying he was heading out to see an Irish girl, was that a can of beer in his hands? But other than those minor things, I enjoy the film and WIll too will be buying the dvd

Im a guy and I liked it too, and I dont usually like romantic comedies, I despised Bridget Jones. I think Paul Bettany creates a really likeable character in colt and Dunst is a nice bit of eye-candy.

I saw the movie yesterday and I and my husband enjoyed a lot. I appreciate the combinaison between sport and romantic movie. I enjoyed to hear what P. Brettany was thinking during his matches. It made it realler.
I wanted to see this movie because it was the same producer of Bridget Jones, About a boy, 4 weddings and a furneral ... I wasn't as always disappointed. The story reminds me of the relationship Graf's and Agassi's.

I just saw this movie tonight and really liked it. Sure it wasn't my favourite movie all time, and it is hardly deep or anything. But I thought it was good light-hearted fun, and a good change from movies which seem to have tragic circumstances or a dark side to them. I am a guy... I don't particularly like Kirsten Dunst much, but still she's ok. Sure the plot was a bit predictable (2 sets down in the final vs the bad guy... pffff). This would have to be one of my favourite "chick flicks" though... pleasant visuals and some good tennis action too.

I enjoyed the movie a lot. :)

yeah, Got it from Netflix the other day and, much to my surprise, I enjoyed it immmensely. Paul is a good actor, alos like him in A Knight's tale.

I thought it was fantastic -- just plain fun, but really anxious during the tennis sequences -- very believable characters, funny and individual. I've played sports -- and the self-talk, the inability to control how we'll play today -- very true. Someone complained that "everyone was nice" -- it is so Sad that so many people think that being mean is real. The love affair -- the people who say the story is nothing new -- well, that's life!!

The whole being the underdog thing and the getting the girl thing is awesome, I kinda like tennis now because of it. I loved how they got some rich american punk as the guy to beat at the finals. Oh and america is alright, good tv comes from there and some other stuff, it's just that there are americans that are very cocky. That guy was a real show off, he pissed me off. You'll know the movie is really good when you're yelling at the main character to go kick some ass.

I agree with your analysis.
Plus, I don't even remember hearing about the movie at all
(& I've always been a big Wimbledon fan) until my sister-in-law showed me the DVD.
We both thoroughly enjoyed it.
