The Tennis action looked authentic.. was...

or... B) CGI?
or... C) Both?

reply

There were definitely stand ins used. Doubt CGI.

Didnt look authentic to me, but maybe it is just me. Or maybe its because todays game is so different. Can you imagine the tennis they were playing in the final working even in the 1st round of the current days game

reply

Both. In the trivia section for this movie, it says that while the serves were real ones from the actors, during the match they just swing and a cgi ball is put in. And I'm sure they used stand-ins for long shots.

yes, you could tell from the service actions of both players. Like there is no way to coach the perfect fluid arm action except for a life playing tennis.

I completely disagree. The tennis action was very unrealistic, especially for Wimbledon. First, most the action includes serve and volleying by both players which is absurd. There are pretty much no serve and volleyers in the ATP anymore. Also, the action was very very slow, the ground strokes, the serves. Tennis is infinitely faster than that and in '04 when the film was made, Wimbledon was still a very fast surface. As a huge tennis fan, I was really disappointed. The action looked like HS matches.
