Why was it not rated X
I thought that this was even too intense for an R rating.

Old thread, I know, but how do you mean? I think you probably mean NC-17 because ever since the 90s, the X-rating (non-copyrighted) has just been a frivolous rating used by pornographers. In regards to this movie, I don't remember anything truly explicit. Some impressive female nudity, sure, but it wasn't hardcore or anything by any stretch. In fact, if I recall correctly, most of the "sex scenes" ended just as things started to get going which is rather underwhelming for softcore late-night fare in my opinion.
The only thing that was memorable and pretty intense (unless I'm thinking of the wrong film) was when the thug put the plastic bag over the computer geek's head and killed him. Pretty intense and jarring in a softcore porn flick granted but nothing I hadn't seen before (ala "Casino" which did it better).
