virginity

I take it she lost her virginity to Ben at the campfire scene. Does anyone disagree?

reply

But when her friend asked her (at the love parade) the reason she was glowing was because of sex, she said just 'love'. I dont know...

You don't value your life? Watch "Ichi ritoru no namida" (1 Liter of Tears)

reply

Yeah she did. When she said no love I think she just kind of meant it was more than sex it was love know?

reply

Plus when Anna tried to seduce Ben the first time, she made a comment like "virgin safe in bed now." She certainly didn't hook up with anybody else between that scene and the campfire.

reply

To me it was clear that she lost her virginity to Ben at the campfire. But she was deeply in love with him. They were making love, and not just having sex. That explains her answer when she meets her friend at the love parade.

besides she didnt have clothes...who sleeps naked next to a man...and not expect anything. we are supposed to assume that they made love....

GET THAT LEGLESS WITCH OUT OF HERE!

reply

yes, I agree. Plus that was the time Ben confessed his love for her. before that.

Not to be a fly in the ointment, but feelings of attachment (love) are a natural human consequence of sex, or in other words you can't just have sex without "making" love. That's just human psychology. Of course, people can destroy that emotional dynamic for themselves by treating sex like a mere itch to be scratch whenever and with whomever they want.

Obviously, in this movie she is not such a person regardless whether or not they had sex. Personally in my mind she didn't, but that's up to the viewer to decide and I'm glad the producers left it that way.

reply

You said she's not that kind of person but she was trying to get laid after just a few days with Ben. One could argue love at first sight but I'm sure that wasn't the case in this movie. Idk she kept complaining about not being able to be alone with a guy.

reply

It's a bit ambigious as to what happened. It's possible that they had sex that night since they wake up together in a blanket at the campfire and he's in his underwear.

When Anna's friend sees her at the parade in Berlin she asks her why she is glowing, and asks her if it is because of sex or love. Anna says it is love, not sex.

You'd also think Ben would know that it would be wrong for him to have sex with and deflower the President's daughter whom he is sworn to protect! Ben could be in some serious trouble if he did something like that!

reply

Here's an idea. She snuggled up next to him naked and fully intended to have sex. But because Ben is her secret service bodyguard he can't do that. So instead he just snuggled with her, which although isn't sex, nonetheless made her feel loved.

reply

How is "making love" any different from "just having sex"? When it comes down to it, they are both just sex.

reply

Hmmmm, let me think for a second...

Some people call it salesmanship... (cynics of course)

Some cuddling, compliments, kissing, a dinner first, nice treatment, then *get busy*, instead of tossing someone down and immediately *get busy*...

The difference between the best night ever, and date rape?
*** they are both just sex... ***

A former co-worker told the tale of his best date... He brought a woman home, and talked for quite a while, then told her they didn't have to do anything if she didn't want, and invited her to sleep there. She chose the bed with him, and just before dawn, she woke him up, and jumped his bones!
Anticipation?

If what you want is *just sex*, that is probably all you will get.
And sometimes, that's what you do want...

reply

Well all I'm going to say is that she must have gotten to third base.

reply

Are these answers serious? It's clear that she and Ben had sex. How could anyone interpret it otherwise? When she told her friend "Love", she obviously meant that she was in love with Ben and that's why she had that glow.
