Jamie Bell and Stephen Daldry had a father/son style relationship, and it was certainly NOT Homosexual. Jamie Bell grew up without a father figure. He was cast as Billy Elliot and Stephen Daldry (childless) kind of 'adopted' him. Because of the pressures of the media frenzy that surrounded the promotion of this film Bell stayed with Daldry at his estate in the South of England (Bell is a northener). I've seen a documentry made about Bell and Daldry, with them both as active participants, and it certainly looked and felt like a real father/son relationship to me. My worry was poor old Daldry being stuck with an immature teenager like Bell -- Bell was under 16 when he made the film so it would have been stupid of Bell/Daldry to have a sexual relationship.
Got to say that nope, father/son type friendship only. I hope Bell goes on to become a well known actor.
Nope, Jamie Bell has actually publicly said that he was not gay. Of course, he could always be lying, but I doubt it.
I think the media's just pinning him because he did all that dancing in Billy Elliott... the world seems to think that all male dancers are homosexual. So not true. :)

I'm going say def not gay. Because if you watch Undertow with the commentary in the scene where he is getting milk from the cow. Jamie while watching the scene freaks out and says it's totally not cool because sucking on the cow's udder makes it look like he's actually doing something else and he was totally put off by it. Just thought I'd let you know. Sorry if it's too vivid for you but I didn't know another way to put it. Plus he LOVES girls!!!! He's said this before trust me!!

Yeah. Some of them were hilarious. My faveorite one is near the end of the film where he's talking about the dead sheep floating in the river. It cracks me up every time he says, "I was like stop, stop, stop, dead sheep. I thought it was an alligator." So funny!

The commentaries and special features are all on the Region 1 dvds. I have Region 2 and there's nowt on it. That sucks :(
