I am in the midst of watching this movie and am so fed up. The uncle had to say where he was staying when he left prison, no? Between the little brother with pica and the uncle with a bare evil soul, I am about fed up. This movie is depressing to no end.
sharepay attention to the scene, (i believe it's when they are on the way home from the jail at the beginning). on the radio, you can hear someone talking about a prisoner who escaped by killing two guards the day before. i believe that's supposed to reference the uncle. he's just putting on a front to the family to appear trustworthy so he can stay there long enough to find the coins.
i thought the movie was beautiful. just rewatched it for the first time in years the other day. still loved it.
