Mamet's best.(Spoilers!)

I have seen all of Mamet's films.

It is the sum of all that is good in Mamet and it has no flaws.

This movie is it.

Great dialog, great one liners, intense action, intelligent, deliberate, humane characters.

The scene at the bar when Kilmer talks about his knife, which starts with this simple phrase: "You should eat something" is pure genius.

In one second you understand what kind of ordeal Kilmer is under, what his jobs takes out of him; the next second you understand where Kilmer is coming from: deep cover missions, killing enemies or being killed. And in the instant you remember what he said about knife fights at the beginning of the movie: "it's all in your head".

Consummate writing: the talent to create images with words, to make you travel through time and space and get back on a stool in that bar, wanting to pinch yourself to be convinced you're not dreaming.

Priceless.

"I saw the signs."

"Then you are truly blessed."

They don't make movies like this anymore.

And what about that lady chief of security who claims: "I am her mother!" that the child is the love of her life!

They never made movies like this.

Definitely one of my favorites, along with The Spanish Prisoner.
