Jumpy editing

When the movie began I was nearly overwhelmed with the switches between the scenes. It was like one scene started to make sense, boom jump to another one. It all seemed so forced and badly cut togehter. I was confused what the movie was about for nearly the first half. The second half got better. It felt like they changed the editor for the second part of the movie. Did anybody feel the same way?

(Grissom): -Are you a terrorist?
(suspect): -Depends, are you terrified?
