Favourite scenes?

- I really liked the over-the-top hero/villain fight.
- Also the Space Oddity / Hellicopter scene was pretty great. I actually rewound and watched it again, which I rarely ever do on first viewings.
- Finally the revelation of what #25 actually was actually surprised and moved me. Something I thought this movie could never do as it went on and became more and more cliched.

I think the tone was all over the place. It wasn't really ambiguous enough whether he went or not, but if he did it wasn't believable enough.

Music was great though, didn't know Jose Gonzalez was doing soundtrack work. Perfect choice. And you can't do wrong with early Arcade Fire.

Walter goes on a quest to find the mysterious photographer and finds him atop a mountain looking at wildlife.

Nothing like a nighttime stroll to give you ideas.

The scene where he finally meets the photographer. That was stunning, powerful and intimate. And I'm not a Penn fan.

I agree. That was a great conversation. Especially the part where they saw the ghost cat which Sean is so eager to take a photo of. Then Walter asked when he's gonna take it and Sean answered that sometimes he does not. The opportunity was right there but instead he just enjoyed and stayed in that moment. Truly beautiful things don't ask for attention.

reply

Yeah, Penn bugs me, but it did not ruin the movie thankfully. It was a pretty good flick.

When Sean tells him about the wallet and the talk about the "Ghost Cat" and how he thought "It would be cute."How Sean reacted when Walter admitted what he did with the wallet was awesome.

And #25. I knew somehow it would be him or his father, but him in his habitat... the Quintessence of Life. Brilliant.

Hands down my favorite scene was Kristen Wiig singing Major Tom to Walter in the bar. Very touching and moving. I think that is the best scene I have seen Kristen Wiig in. I also love the rest of this scene when it changes over to David Bowie singing Major Tom and Walter jumps on to the helicopter. I love the look on his face when he realizes he actually did it.

The scenes in Greenland, Iceland (WOW!), and the Himalayas.

No hate, but I felt the film became good when he left New York.

I did enjoy the crazy fight vision too, and what the final picture was. Also Sean Penn saying "Truly beautiful things don't seek for attention" was deep.

Love this movie. The best scenes happened to have the best scores/ songs
1. Skateboarding down the mountain
2. Major Tom helicopter
3. Anything Iceland
4. Honorable mention (from my daughter) -- benjamin buttons

Pretty much restating what everyone else here already has, but here goes:

The reveal of shot #25

Kristen Wiig's Major Tom

The whole scene with Sean Penn

The Iceland skateboarding (great song too)

The scene where Walter delivers the negative to the d-bag Life executive

I liked the scenes between Walter and ??? I cannot remember Kirsten Wiig's character's kid. They were touching and real in a movie that was full for the most part of nonsense - even though that was the point.
