What Charas? - Neverwinter Nights (2002) Discussion

My character is an 8th level Rogue/1st level Shadow dancer. He is an elf (even though the elven favored class is sorceror or wizard, I find that they are extremely well-suited to rogue life). He started off as Chaotic Neutral, but now he's Chaotic Good. His name is Caldor Tylenus (Game-generated name, since I didn't feel creative).

P.S. This is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated

Rogue/Shadowdancer is awesome.. "Hide in plain sight" is combined with sneak attack just rocks.. I have a 9th level rogue/6th level Ranger/3rd level Shadowdancer, and he just kicks serious butt (I took ranger for the free multi-weapon feats, but it's useful for other things - nothing like using Animal Empathy on a newly summoned dire bear :o)

I can't believe I never thought of taking ranger to get 2-weapon fighting. Here I am trying to earn my way through the feats when all you need is a few levels in Ranger. Crap man. What race is your character, schon (just out of curiosity). I can't imagine what race would be so perfectly suited to rogue as well as ranger other than elf or human, so I would assume he/she's one of those two.
Do you play D&D as well, or just Neverwinter Nights?

Actually, Rogue/Ranger was my favourite class combination of all time (even when I was playing the pencil & paper D&D).. When I started playing HOTU, I added shadowdancer because it fit so well with the way that character plays..

Race is half-elf.. (also from the old pencil & paper days) fits well with the rogue class because of the increases to listen and spot (searching for traps, etc.)

I haven't played the pencil & paper D&D for a *very* long time.. last time I played was probably 15 years or so (maybe more) The game has changed a lot since I played though - with all of the new game mechanics, I don't know if I'd like playing with the new system - I tried a bunch of other RPGs, and the ones with complex mechanics tended to become unfun because you get caught up with the rules, rather than letting the game flow.. without a doubt the best ones were the ones with the fewest rules (I think my all-time favourite was Conan - very simple rules.)

Mine is a level 20 half- elf. He´s a fighter.
I named him Arto Ellamytholin...

I also have another charachter, who's basically the same, except his name is Elitradril Leonars.

Just got the game. I started this afternoon. Ima level 3 dwarf cleric that I named Balimtar Earthweaver. It's not randon generated.

Look out! God is coming and she looks pissed!

My character's Amenia Freyn, and she's a 4lvl rogue and 3lvl paladin, the original game. I've got the expansion packs, but I can't play them, cause my computer keeps telling me I've got the wrong cd in, or that there's something wrong with the installment etc. if anyone's got any idea what I could do, please tell me! I've allready finished the game twice, so I seriously want to move on to the other games!
And if it's not too much to ask, I'd love recomandations (sp?) for other RPG games like NWN..

People always say I'm crazy. I call it imagination...

My Character is a halfling Lvl 16 Rogue/Lvl 2 Shadowdancer.

I'm not really sure about your CD problem. It did that for me on the third expansion pack. I had to uninstall the entire game and it's second expansion pack twice. I gave up on it for about 6 months, but now it seems to work.

My friend said something about an downloading an update from the official site, but I never got one, since the game is on my laptop andn I have no internet access on it. Seems to work fine, though.

Well, I tried to install it again, but it still wont work. When I try to start it, a message pops up saying I have to put in the Hordes of the Underdark play CD. I've tried every cd I have, but it still doesn't work. You've got any idea what I can do? Update's impossible, cause I've got no internet access on my computer... and on Shadows of Undrentide this message saying EAaccessviolation came up...

Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong, and to the worst time possible.

Simple solution = search.

Type the error message you get into a search engine, most notably google.

Add key words (such as neverwinter nights) if necessary.

elven fighter / rogue

weapon finesse and 2 rapiers, improved critical, holy crap, by the end of hordes of the underdark, i was criticaling on 10-20, and doing about 50dam a hit, not to mention i had 4 attacks with my main weap and 2 with my off-hand

Lvl 8 Bard/ Red Dragon Disciple, gave the heavy armor feat at startup so she is clad in full plate with a +1 tower shield, add a bracelet of armor, ring of protection, a +1 AC synergy bonus from tumble and a +1AC bonus from the RDD class, and she has an AC of 28 without even finishing the first act.

My character is a human Lvl 30 Sorcerer\Lvl 10 Half Dragon Disciple.
He has the robe of heavy magic resistance, sword saint legacy + 8, cloak of the nymph + 5(+5 charisma;)), Braces of defence, Dragon slippers and the skukenja helm(extra spell slots).

I also tried to imitate Abazigal from throne of baal.
He's blue, his race is human but I called it half dragon.
He has the greatsword + 5 equipped, Blue dragon armor, he's a Lvl 20 Druid, a Lvl 10 Fighter, and a Lvl 10 Shifter, so he can shapeshift into a dragon
(makes it more realistic)

my character is a lawful evil human (sub-race tiefling(white hair and skin, with horns)) level 12 fighter, level 5 weapon master. my weapon is choice is dual rapiers (the ultimate choice as far as critical hit frequency counts). his charisma and wisdom are fairly high so it was like giving him more of a personality. and i named him Insahn
