Sandy Shaw shouldn't have got life

First off, she set up a beating, not really her fault her crazy friend brought a gun and proceeded to turn this crime into a murder.

Second of all, she was 15, they portrayed her as some sort of mafia don, who ordeed a hit, she set up a beating of some guy who was harrasing her, sure it all went wrong, but hardly her fault.

She shoulda got about 5 years for her part in it, it seemed a bit unfair.

I know nothin more about the crime, than what was shown on the documentary, so maybe she knew more than they let on, ut from my stand point, 5 yers woulda been enough for a 15 year old girlm hr never knew Troy had a gun on him, let alone he would commit a murder.

I agree with you.

pizza and beer diet is as worthless as a room full of happy birthday cards at a funeral

I read that Sandy was granted parole a couple of weeks ago and is due to be released in December.

it will be so weird for her to suddenly go back into society after spending over half her life incarcerated. She seems to have a supportive family and has made a huge effort in her rehabilitation and education whilst in jail, so hopefully she will be able to reintegrate back into the outside world, it said in the article that she has a receptionist job lined up already.

Apparently she also gets loads of letters from guys with 'romantic interests' in her, but she doesn't respond to them. Its strange how someone who is involved in a highly publicized crime suddenly becomes hugely attractive to all these people. Troy gets a ton of mail from crazy love-lorn women every time HBO show the documentary too.

I wonder if Sandy blames Troy for what happened and for messing up her life, in the documentary she didn't seem resentful towards him, but spoke about him with affection. Since the other guy involved, Billy Merrit, took a plea deal to testify against Troy and Sandy, maybe they blame him for their harsh sentences as he got only 10 years (though he re-offended when released and went back to jail). There is no real mention made of him in the documentary.
