So if nobody really knows what Winston Churchill really looks like, and believes him to be Roy Bubbles then why are all the reporters talking to him and calling him by his real name?

Well this is my view on it:
They call the American Churchill "Churchill" because they think thats him, but everyone doesn't recognise the proper Churchill ie "the old guy with the cigar" and so think that is Roy Bubbles.
I don't know if that is right but its all I can suggest!
I don't really care about how they explained the whole roy bubbles thing. I thought the movie was hilarious, and i love it for what it is, a light-hearted comedy that's funny as hell.

it didn't come to light that the old guy winston was actually roy bubbles until the present day, i suggest you watch it again and pay attention otherwise we'll begin to believe the only plot hole is between your ears!!
