Is Rik Mayall (Baxter) funny in this??

Well, is he? He must be - he's HILARIOUS! esp in Bottom.

reply

Yes especially when he falls into a river, "Oh bloody, *beep* he says.

reply

He's sooooo funny in Bottom.

Man, I can't wait for this to be out!

"If God is with us, who can be against us"

reply

i was watching that scene when they were doing it. They had to do it over and over again cause these blokes managed to drive past beeping the horn all the time. it took all afternoon :-)

reply

Yeah he's the funniest in it, unfortunately he doesn't have a large part. [Cue Bottom style joke].

They should've given him more stuff, all the stuff he did was brill. Goes to prove Rik Mayall is the most naturally funny actor we have.

reply

I agree. Rik's part was brill, the funniest by far - but way too small (oo-er) He's fantastic!

reply

He has a small part, eh? (huh huh). I can imagine - that always happens! Wasn't he cut from that Harry Potter film (he played Peeves)?

He's a comedic GENIUS - he should get WAY more exposure (huh huh - cue Bottom sexual innuendo, as someone else said!)

reply

Rik is without doubt a comedic genius - right on! Yes, he was cut from the Harry Potter film - probably for being too sexy! Oh, I would have loved to have seen him as Peeves!

reply

The part where Rik Mayall falls into the river was the only part of this film I found funny. It's just a combination of his facial expression, his line "Oh, bloody *beep* and the hilariously fake looking dummy they use when he falls in.

reply

His facial expressions always make me laugh. He is one of my favourite comedian actors mainly due to Bottom (one of my all time fav comedy programs).

His part was too short but he always steals the scene from the main actors.

reply

the most naturally funny british comic actors today are easily mark heap and kevin eldon. reece shearsmith is also naturally funny, especially his frustrated voices.

reply

on the dvd it said he was supposed to play hitler, but because he had something else to do he got a smaller part

TV SHOWS DON'T CREATE PHYSCOS! CANCELLING TV SHOWS DOES-scary movie

reply

I have to say that Rik is probably the funniest part of the film, and i wasn't killing myself laughing at anything he did. Little chuckle at "bloody *beep* but it wasn't that good. If you wanna see Rik at his best you're better off watching Bottom/Filthy, Rich and Catflap/Young Ones/Blackadder when he plays Flashart. Those are the greatest things he has done, and the Bottom Live shows are just awesome.

Rik has done loads of better stuff, he was funnier in Guest House Paradiso (which is under appreciated if you ask me. The end is terrible, but there is some funny stuff up until that point)

reply

i love rik too. he would have been a great hitler (maybe too sexy though!!)
considering he and peter go waaaaaaay back one would think rik would get a larger part (ooer). rik could have played hitler's sidekick. heck, even spudgun had more screen time.
ah well, one day rik will be recognized for the wonderfully talented actor that WE know he is. love ya uncle ricky! XXX

reply

...I totally agree that considering Rik and Peter go way back to the Comedy Store and Comic Strip days of the early '80s he should of given Rik a bigger part!!
Well, I know that he is an extreamly talented actor/comedian/writer and we should all praise him - I love ya too Ricky!!

reply

I love Rik's parts. The bigger the better. Oo-er!

reply

I love Rik too! He is a comedy genius!

yeah, rik is definately a stand out in this. everything he says is funny from his first line about elizabeth being 'the new young philly' or something along those lines to his final lines 'oooh, i've bagged a yankee. i'm gonna enjoy thiiis.' he definately should have had a bigger part [ooer. sorry, had to do that]as he would've made the film so much more funnier.

What's that? You just called me a bastard didn't you!

reply

He should have played Hitler! Although I'm a huge fan of Mayall, I did not find him particularily funny in this film. But that was maybe because the film was not very good. See something else with Mayall in it if you want a good laugh!

reply

Rick Mayal could have made the film and so could most of the other great talent in it, but it was all wasted because of there being too many characters to skip through. Id loved to have seen Adrian Edmonson in it too

reply

RIK MAYALL as well as all the other actors in this film (who are usually laugh out loud funny) are all wasted in this and aint funny at all. The film is a dud

reply

His best line, in my opinion, was when he told 'Churchill' to f off back home and take his slave-the black 'Eisenhower'-with him! Apparently this wasn't in the script! Just Rik being naughty!

Yes, definitely. That was the best moment in the entire movie. It was just so unexpected and rude.

The scene that cracks me up is the one where Rik and Romany Malco fight and Malco jumps up and down on Rik's body. I almost soiled myself laughing at that one.
