I had read that the erect penis had been edited out for the U.S. release, but the version I just saw in West Hollywood did not open with an "explicit sex scene." Did I blink or has some form of preemptive censorship taken place here?

I saw the unrated version on a screener tape from the US distributor and it did have a scene of the two bears having sex. You saw frontal nudity of the two guys, even an erect penis with a condom on it just as the top guy was about to "do the deed" with the other bear. I think we even see a simulation of him slowly inserting it. It was pretty eye-popping for a supposedly mainstream big budget film, even if it is a foreign one. Anyone know what happened? Why would they have taken it out. The film was released unrated, so the MPAA had no say in the cutting.

Well, I'll wait till this comes on DVD, in my opinion bear sex is hot! Being a young cub myself. I think it's only fair that I should be able to see two men of the ursine type gettin it on. shareI have the spanish DVD of Cachorro and the movie is complete there. My Region Free Daewoo dvd player plays either PAL or NTSC dvds. The erect penis and the whole starting scene are there. Besides, the dvd has some cut scenes that are very funny, one of them a leather scene between the main character and his french boy friend. I hope the movie is released uncut in the american DVD.
shareI work at a theater, and one of our sister theaters is playing this film. the distributor sheets say PG-13 on it... though I doubt it would get that since any hint at gay sex in this country gets an "R" rating.
I have a question about something that also seemed abruptly cut too... near the end in the sauna after the "three years later" title... he walks from the locker room to the dark sauna, and (in the version I saw) it stops very abruptly (music in mid phrase even). is there something cut there too?
Yeah I have the Thai version I got from Ebay and it's a good movie, but it seemed a little choppy

However, I rented the movie from Blockbuster and the nudity is gone. Basically you see the two men in bed with the guy and it is clear they are having sex by NOISES, but nothing is *shown*. It's got an R rating for the Blockbuster "version".

Sorry, but I just realized that there were two different versions released in America. The R-rated version and teh Unrated Version. I'm guessing the Unrated Version, which is longer by about 8 minutes, has the sex scene in the beginning...
Hmm I wish I had known about this before I had bought the DVD... I'm thinking I'm going to see if I can find the unrated version and buy it for myself, and use the R rated version to show to other people.
Get the dvd from Spain, it has english subtitles to, and is completely unedited with all the sex scenes.
