Who has seen The Box?

Is this movie any good?

I'd watch it just for Brad Dourif, but that's just me.

So...anybody who's seen The Box....is it any good?

It's not too bad, for a Brad movie.

Brad was good in it, kinda gruff. He smoked weed.

Oooh! and he wore shirts that had little logos from some of the other stuff he's done: myst and alien resurrection i think.

The ending of the movie was crappiness, and the two main characters who were supposedly in love had absolutely no chemistry.

I haven't seen it. I want to, but as you said, I'd only watch it for Brad Dourif seeing as he's one of my favourite actors ever!

The Box is a good, straight-up, neo-noir film. If you're into the genre you'll like it. You should be aware that Brad Dourif's part in the film is not huge as the film mainly focuses on James Russo (not surprising since he wrote the film). Brad is a sort of sidekick, but he's really good.

I would also see it just for Dourif. He's my favorite actor.

I would watch it just for Brad Dourif too. With Steve Railsback in the mix, I'm in B-movie heaven. I'll have to seek this out.

This is no doubt one the the most dreadful movies i ever saw. The story was silly to say the least, if there was any actually, the characters were totally unbelievable, the acting was shallow at the best and the film was dragging and seemed not to end at all. And i do love Theresa!

Hands (and feet) off!

I bought this movie before even seeing for 8 bucks because of the actors (love Russo, Russell, Dourif and Rooker), and because I love neo-noir films, but I agree with every word hermwalt said. Very disappointing indeed.

Please, sit down and watch this movie again. The issues it raises insist that you spend your two hours watching the production, not diverting your attention to something else that may catch your eye/ear at home. I'm including the previous commenter in my reply here, as well: I'm a little bit older than most, I guess, so I'm not disappointed if a well-regarded star or personage is NOT a major player -- or even appearing in -- a film or video I've decided to invest my money and my time in.

Would you cause the death of some unknown man, woman or child in return for a literally small fortune? Is it an easy decision to kill your spouse, or have your only child 'live' in darkness and silence while you enjoy some spectacular found money? Can I, as a viewer, empathize with a character in a film even if he/she makes choices other than I would make (and I don't include going down to the basement with a maniac loose in the house).

I've only seen "The Box" on cable yesterday, for the first time, and I've already bought the movie and the complete short story collections (vol. 1, 2, & 3) of Richard Matheson. You might be surprised at the number of ways his novels and stories have touched -- changed -- our civilization, even!

And now, "Do you want to see something really scary?" !!!
