They really had something special with the first series... but from then on it all become old recycled gags on top of gross-out scenes. Anatomically correct fat suits are only funny for about 10 seconds.

The first season is really funny! And the characters they kept from the first season into the second and third I still loved.
But the second and third seasons...breastfeeding? peeing? vomiting? Not funny. And don't get me started on that horrible mail order bride sketch.

The trouble with the show was that it kept far too many of the same characters who's jokes had already worn thin and any of the new ones were just bad like Judy and Maggie and the whole vomiting thing and Carol Beer with her one-joke "Computer says no". I think maybe the show spread itself too thickly and capitalised on it's success too much by trying too hard to be better than the last series but it failed.

Wow - I'm almost embarrassed to say that I completely disagree! I'm a normal, clever 34 year old man who loves Breaking Bad, Parks & Rec, The Wire and some other beautifully written shows. But even just reading these posts is making me laugh hysterically - I love Judy & Maggie! I lose my $hit every time Desir'ee says anything. "I can get you a vegetarian meal....on a flight to Beijing....that leaves in 10 minutes" - hilarious! I know it's broad, I know it's over the top, but series 2 and 3 are a lot better than a *lot* of seasons of SNL (and I'm an SNL fan as well).
shareInteresting. I watched only two episodes and it was repetitive with really shallow humor. You could see many low quality shows like that in the '80s.
This is worst brittish comedy i ever saw.
