Monty Python meets Kids in the Hall

Does anyone else feel like Little Britain is like the "love child" of Monty Python and Kids in the Hall? It's not as funny as either of them, but I definitely see some similarities: the English charm of Monty Python, plus the "gaiety" of KITH.
