Surprised by negative responses

...to this really special film. This director's other film, "Broken Sky" remains one of my favorite movies that deals with this theme, so i was excited to see "A Thousand Clouds of Peace," and I think it might be even better than Broken sky. I think to appreciate it, one has to specifically be a fan of this kind of arthouse cinema; Beautiful b&w photography, combined with a story that tells itself not in words, but in images..which is really what film is supposed to do. I loved the main character, and i could feel this guy's sadness through the screen, and at the end i felt like i knew some of these random people that he meets on the street, personally. i just can't imagine anybody who claims to love or appreciate film, not being blown away by this work of cinematic art; this one is pure poetry. To all those complaining about the lack of dialogue, or a linear plot; go read a book instead, and stop criticizing good films.
