Wonderwall (the band)

Does anyone else find the covers band kinda sad? I get why they do it and I dont see anythin wrong with makin some money bye playin oasis's songs but to dress up like them and pretend they are them (see dvd extras) is just a bit lame isnt it?

If I go to see a covers band i know its not the real band...just concentrate on sounding legit!

I thought including them in the documentary took away from covering additional REAL bands and performers not mentioned, as well as providing more insight into the story behind Britpop. The documentary seemed more interested in contrasting and comparing the backgrounds of the Gallagher Bros. and Damon Albarn than in exploring the evolution of Britpop.

I also think that the premise presented in this documentary does a disservice to 80s British music that preceded this era. As an American I find myself disagreeing with the conclusion that Britpop was the first genre of popular music to focus all things British from everyday life to nationalistic and social issues relevant to the UK. There were plenty of British bands in the 80s that played music based on all of those angles, but the documentary writers seemed motivated in playing down the 80s as much as possible.
