I just watched it again.

I really like this film about Johnny Cash. J. Phoenix did a great job of singing along with Reese. Phoenix had Cash's mannerisms down perfectly including how he held the guitar. At first I thought they dubbed in Cash's voice but in the credits it stated that Phoenix did the singing.

reply

Yeah, it is a great film and both Phoenix and Witherspoon were fantastic.

reply

I saw this movie 2 or 3 times over the years...

But I hadnt seen it in probably 7 years.

after watching Joker when it came out, I was amazing by Joaquin....

I wanted to rewatch Walk The Line again....

I must say I just watched this last month again, and Lord, I was BLOWN away....First its a great movie, but Joaquin was astonishing....He absolutely deserved an Oscar...

amazing I didnt see just how great the movie and his performance was earlier, but I DO NOW

reply

June once studied acting with Elvis in NY in the 50's.

She has a small role in the excellent Robert Duvall film The Apostle and she does a fine job with it.

reply

I watched it for the first time today 8/10

reply

I agree I enjoy it a lot!

I still remember going to see this film in the theater. I absolutely LOVED it and was legitimately angry when it was over because I was having such a good time watching it.

The entire cast do an excellent job and the film is so well written and directed. I knew very little about Johnny Cash before the film and came out more curious about the man and his music.

Walk the Line is an easy contender for best biopic of all time, and certainly for best biopic of a musician. The only two I can think of off the top of my head that I'd say are in the same league are Ray and Coal Miner's Daughter.

reply

I have to catch Ray sometimes.

reply

It's a great film. Jamie Foxx has annoyed me of late with his political nonsense, but he turned in a great performance in that movie.

reply

What has he been saying?

reply

He's just a hardcore Democrat saying typical hardcore Democrat shit. If that's you're thing, I guess you'll love him. I'm on the other side though.

reply

Can't stand those "hardcore" Democrats, talking about equality and all that shit.
WE'RE all about the Hierarchy and Caste System cuz it's the Natural Order.
Leave Fairness to the Dems. We want to enjoy our privilege, tyvm.

reply

Actually I think hardcore Dem shit comes down to murdering babies in the womb, widespread censorship, denial of reality, and hatred of the Christian religion.

reply

HAHAHA !!!

We only murder REPUBLICAN babies in the womb, and whatever else stupid garbage you just posted.

I'm EVIL and ur not ! So effing stupid I can't even make a parody w/o looking dumb.

reply

Actually, I never used the word evil. I'd say more misguided, deceived, deluded, etc.

Bear in mind I'm not talking about moderate Dem shit like healthcare or whatever, but once a group starts killing kids, waging widespread censorship campaigns, teaching our youth to hate America, and embracing critical race theory, they're a cancer.

If you're thinking to yourself, "Well I don't do any of that!" then the Democratic party left you behind long ago.

reply

I made the mistake of talking politics on the MC side, and that I regret.

reply

It's no longer politics but survival.
