Hey, it looks like this was filmed in Canada according to this board, but they've staged it in Chicago. I live here and it looks like some of the exterior shots were indeed filmed here(dancing at the el stop). Outside of the blatant pan out skyline shots, was any of this filmed in Chicago?
shareThey spent several months making the movie in Winnipeg. I think about a week was spent shooting exterior scenes (train) in Chicago. They built "fake" stairs to the Chicago train in Winnipeg.

The film was shot in Winnipeg. I was part of the full time crew that worked on the film. Winnipeg is a good 'double' for Chicago because of the Exchange District exteriors. Many of those buildings were designed and built at the turn of the 20th century by the same gents who desined and built Chicago's buildings. Hence, Winnipeg's nickname in the 20s and 30s, "Chicago of the North".
