So who noticed Dancing with the Stars dancers?

I've seen this movie a million times and never noticed that some of the dancers are the dancers from Dancing with the Stars. And i didn't realize this until i was just flipping through channels and found it playing on tv and i stopped to see what part it was at and was about to change it when I thought I recognized Karina Smirnoff. I can't believe I never noticed this before because she has a pretty big part compared to all the other dancer extras. And then I recognized Tony Dovolani. I came to IMDB to double check and Charlotte Jorgensen and Nick Kosovich are also in the movie but I didn't see them. But they were probably in the ballroom competition scene.

I just came on here to see if anyone else noticed too. Like you, I've seen this movie multiple times and never noticed until last night.

You know, I've watched this movie quite a bit but it wasn't until recently that I noticed that first Karina was in there and then I noticed Tony. That made me watch the credits for other dancers that I recongised. One couple I recognised was Ben and Shalene Ermis. If you watched the previous 2 years of "America's Ballroom Challenge" on PBS, they were very successful at that. But sadly, they retired in 2006.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't realize there were some DWTS stars in the movie until it aired on tv again. Lol, cuz I was flipping through channels and I noticed the movie on, and I thought I saw Tony, so I came on here and looked, and was a little baffled, considering I've been watching DWTS for a while now.

I hadn't seen Shall We Dance in years so I was excited to see the DWTS dancers in there. Honestly, I didn't recognize Karina until she spoke, but Tony was pretty obvious...hated that he was such a butt though! :o)

I watched this DVD for the first time last night & recognized Karina & Tony. Something else is puzzling me, though. Mya Harrison, celebrity contestant from DWTS Season 9 had a small dancing part in the movie, also. She played Vern's fiancee. Was it fair for her to compete in DWTS 5 years later?

well a lot of the contestants have some dancing experience, especially the singers, and a few actors have ballroom dancing experience just from different roles they may have played.
