Ok, so i was watching this movie yesterday, and to me it felt obvious that Gere`s character only went to the dance school to "possibly" bang JLo-s character? For give for my language, but that really was my first impression and to be honest, as the movie went on, it still seemed so for a while. (Ofcourse then we got those "if you came here for me, then forget about this" lines in the middle there). But there are scenes where Gere starts studying with another teacher while JLo is practicing in the second room and then Gere is stunned and watching her practicing.

Obviously as the movie went on, you see how his happy to discover the shall we call it a "dancing devil" in him, but still.

In the scene previous to the sexy Tango...Richard explain that it was Paulina who attracted him, but not sexually. His words were "You looked on the outside the way I did on the inside." or something like that.

Perhaps he was intrigued by someone who was beautiful && wanted to know why she looked so miserable all the time. During her practices she always looked serious or depressed and with this unspoken notion that beautiful women should be happy and loving all the time is completely false.

But that's just me.
