Why would she keep yelling at him like that? Once she saw that she was creating a distraction, why didn't she just shut up?

She was annoying but the dad shouldn't have freaked out as badly.

He was already nervous. He was also hiding this secret ballroom life. Couple the stage fright with the fact his secret might be found out by his family and there you go.

Keep in mind that while he was a lawyer, he wasn't a litigator. He didn't do courtroom. He was basically a glorified accountant, helping people draft their wills and set up their trusts. He was a desk jockey. So performance of any kind wasn't in his nature. Doing this competition was a huge step in his life.

Yes. She should have shut up.

Not only because this was a ballroom competition and not a basketball game, but because she was the only one doing it. She basically didn't know how to behave at a ballroom dance competition.

But she was young and oblivious to her behavior, as many youth are. She thought she was supporting her Dad when she was doing the exact opposite.

It was also pretty clueless as I'm sure her Dad was one of those people who didn't like attention drawn to them. In other words, he was not a center of attention surprise birthday party kind of guy.

Yes! She was 14 years old and like her mother, could never imagine her father doing something like that. 🐭
