Why Should You Avoid This Movie?? I Can Tell You.

Okay, here's the deal. According to the box, the "facility" is a creepy victorian house. WRONG. Try a shabby mix of poorly constructed sets in what appears to be an old office building. Second, the box and tagline imply that torture is inflicted on hapless mental patients by an insane psychiatrist/surgeon reminiscent of Dr. Killjoy in the video game "The Suffering." Wrong again! The most strenuous torture the one patient in the movie has to suffer is getting his sweat sucked out of his face by a huge machine that would look scary as hell, if the claws that sucked the sweat out didn't have yellow sponges on the tips.

Usually, if a movie is bad, it's because of the acting and not the story. Here, it's the other way around. The acting is dedicated and believable (with the exception of Andrew Divoff continuously balancing on his legs, despite the fact that he plays a cripple), but the script -- the entire story -- that the actors have to go off of is so broken and pathetic it that reads and plays like a film student's B movie.

The reasons to see this movie are the sex scene with the gorgeous Dr. Verger played by Denice Duff and the last five to ten minutes which include a mutant two-headed retard, a guy getting half his face melted off, and another guy ripping off his own face. There's also a few witty lines ("Are you here to get rid of my RID?") but other than that, you're in for a steaming pile of Straun.
