I highly doubt it, 3 people - 1 parachute.
If you got the rocks to try it your very frigging brave!!

2 people with the 1 parachute happens all the time, so probably could happen with 2 kids and 1 man, but without being properly strapped in, the jerk would more than likely 'shake' you loose. Doubt you would be able to hold on like they were.

Damn dramatic part of the movie and well done by the filmmakers to look very real. Must admit, after knowing nothing about it and being 'made' to watch this flick I really enjoyed it!

The way we saw it most certainly would not have worked, basic aerodynamics. Both of them had to dive headlong, streamlining their body so that they could have a higher terminal velocity than the kid who fell out first. But the second kid who was thrown out fell with his body horizontal to the ground, he could not have caught up. There's also the problem of the kids grabbing around him, which most certainly would have ejected the chute (the first kid visibly grabbed the ripcord several times).

There have been instances of guys "saving a chute" and jumping out together, but never before have I heard of three people attempting it. I think it could work with practice, but not with two kids scared out of their mind with no knowledge of what to do.

Still one of the best scenes in any movie I have ever seen (and I've seen over 500).

I am very doubtful that it is possible to do the skydive scene. And i agree with what @ joshcryer suggested, that it is not possible to perform such maneuver in the air.

The scene is wonderful nonetheless !
