Objects moving around and loud noises is NOT horror
I feel like this movie should be mandatory viewing for every filmmaker on what NOT to do in a horror movie. What the hell was the intention here? I understand fearing the unknown, but that requires a semblance of a backstory or explanation. This film has neither. The hour and a half running time is nothing but objects flying around and loud noises. The climax is even worse as we're subjected to ludicrous CGI with a monster that looks like he crawled out of a PS2 video game. What even was the story here? Who was the Boogeyman? Where did he come from? Why is he targeting the protagonist? Why did he kidnap so many children? How did Tim know how to kill it by destroying the things around his room? Why did the Boogeyman take a 15 year break from terrorizing Tim if he's able to travel outside the family home? I tend to disagree with the general consensus for horror films but this one is truly as terrible as they say- if not worse.
