I wish I could learn to appreciate this movie

I saw this movie for the first time last year after putting it off for a long time. I had heard that it was hilarious and many people described it as a classic. However, once I actually watched it, I was pretty disappointing in it. And this is coming from someone who likes satire, like Austin Powers, Dumb & Dumber, Airplane, etc.

I wonder if I disliked it because I saw it with too high of expectations. I went in thinking it was going to be a fantastic movie and was let down. But everyone who saw it ten years ago probably went in with somewhat low expectations and then walked out surprisingly satisfied.

Don't get discouraged - I shut it off after 10 minutes the first time I watched it. The same thing happened to me, everybody kept raving about what a masterpiece it was, so I gave it another shot.

Today, it is one of my favorites!

By the way, I love the other movies you mentioned also!

I went into it with low expectations, not being overly impressed with most of Will Ferrell's stuff. But I quite enjoyed it, with its self-conscious digs at 1970s culture. Because my daughter loves it, I have ended up watching it several times by default of being in the same room, and it is one of those movies that you find more to laugh at with each showing.
