She was the one who stood out to me from the get-go, with that great voice of hers....So glad she won.

Another pop-country singer, nothing new or all that great there. Her challenge is marketing. There has never been a long term success for a Nashville Star winner so how do you alter it this time? With Carrie Underwood (of American Idol fame), her looks are marketed to young males and her lyrics appeal to women. Melissa may be a bit more of a challenge especially with the handicap of Nashville Star's previous winners all failing in time.

I too was glad melissa won, I was surprised though, I thought Gabe would win. I like them both, he can sing and I think he has a future.
I loved Anglea Hacker from last yr and you never hear anything about her?
I think she had a unique voice.

I doubt young males are buying her album. Its gotta be girls and women that are buying her music.

I have been pulling for her all along, was really glad last night to see that she won, hope she changes the course of her predessors with this win in the she goes on to shine and have a good long career, she has the potential lets hope she uses all of it....oh and can we now smack John Ritch for all his continous comments last night regarding the countless times he mentioned Melissa being the mom of 5 and Gabe's hispanic ancestry.....listening to him run his mouth I wanted to turn off the tv until it came time to announce the winner

But Melissa, yeah, she's got the goods, just a natural talent, unaffected and soulful. I think she'll be the first genuine star to come out of that show. I'm not really into country music but I like her, and I think others who aren't hardcore country fans will too.

yay for Melissa!! I'm not a hardcore country fan but i decided to watch this season and I liked Melissa from the very beginning. I hope she'll be very successful!
